Yuba City is the county seat of Sutter County, California, United States. It is the principal city of the Yuba City Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Yuba City, Sutter, and Yuba counties. As of May 2006, the city had a total population of 60,507, while the metro area's population was 151,391. It is the 22nd largest metropolitan area in California ranked behind El Centro, Redding, and Chico. It is the 247th largest in the United States. Yuba City has 2 Zip Codes, 95991 & 95993. The division of the two is along highway 99 east and west sides.
The Yuba City area is 40 minutes north of Sacramento and is part of the Sacramento Valley. Although popularly believed to be the home of the smallest mountain range in the world (the Sutter Buttes), the volcanic domes are not actually mountains.
